A couple old guys miss your cut in Kalu and Zgonina. Ferguson is also a goner. No complaints there, you're probably right.

Abbate might beat out Cook, but at this point I still think Cook has the edge. Specials teams will drive the call there. I wouldn't be too shocked if Kubiak decides to carry just one FB in favor of an extra RB or OL, maybe stashing Abbate on the PS.

Your 5th WR might be David Anderson since the team seems to like him on special teams.

The WR I want to watch in camp though is Tim Carter. A 2nd round pick from Auburn, he is sort of the Andre Davis candidate of this year's group. I haven't watched him in awhile, but he had some speed back in the day (4.3 forty iirc). Intersting bloodlines... bio says he is cousins of Dwight Gooden, Gary Sheffield, Al Harris, and Ozzie Newsome. He hasn't returned kicks much in the NFL, but he averaged 24 yds per return in college.

Cook - does appear to have the edge on paper. But he is also a high cap guy and Abbate is an ex LB so special teams play should be a plus. I can see Bigtinylittle's scenario of Abbate to the PS and Cook cut playing out. In that case Dreessen would be the backup gameday FB.

I think the signing of Colvin and the improvement of Bulman could lead to the pushing out of Kalu and Zgonina. Though one of them may still make the team when the pads go on. Bulman still needs to show he can play when the real hitting starts.

As to the 5th WR, I'm with you Keith, I want to see Tim Carter ,Harry Williams and the rookie Darnell Jenkins, along with Anderson.

Some other guys that I want to see practice and in games are Jesse Nading DE, Gabe Long DT, Ben Moffitt LB, and Charles Spencer (If we where going with a power scheme, I believe he would have a chance, as is he might be able to play OG for someone like the Cards, or the Steelers).

Getting closer to next Saturday, 8am.
