Default Pain D-R-C

Trying to come up with a nickname for our linebackers. "Da Fiddies" ain't cutting it with me. Thinking back to Run DMC I was thinking that Diles-Ryans-Cushing could be melded together.

Strike DRC, Smash DRC, Blitz DRC, Bang DRC, Bam DRC, Storm DRC were some of the ideas that came to me. Anyone out there got something better?

I'd prefer we start winning consistently and become a dominant defense before coming up with a catchy nickname - even it's just for the LB corp. This defense has a way of embarassing itself as soon as you think it's turned the corner.

Not even sure Diles will be around long enough to build a nickname around.

DeMeco's an RFA without a new CBA next year, but he sorta needs a new contract at some point too.

As for nicknames, I'm not going to be too picky though. Just need something that sticks and helps the average NFL fan better identify with this franchise.

Yeah, that thought came to me too. I'm pretty high on drafting Sean Weatherspoon, but after last week, Diles might have justified using the 1st round draft pick on another position.

I've come up with a new idea. Maybe I'll leave out their initials and just call the LBs in our 4-3 defense "Three Dogs Fight" on the other hand, Mike Vick might have made that a bad idea.

If we aren't using next year's #1 on the defensive secondary, I may start lobbing hand grenades at Reliant.

It really depends upon where we are drafting and who is available at the time. Taking a look at the draft class in the Secondary just which player rates a 1st round pick? Taylor Mays or Eric Berry would be a no-brainer if they are available. I personally, could support Nate Allen if we were in the 20's. However, just to use a 1st round pick on CB Kyle Wilson to say that we had to address the Secondary (especially if Dunta Robinson is traded/not franchised) and went that route, might be a stupid move. Again, that depends upon who is available when we pick.

Nah, that's not going to create any buzz. I want a monniker that will intimidate the opposition and motivate our team into believing that they are something special.

You have a point. Until we played the Raiders, (who suck) no one played exceptional. Our LB's need a repeat performance of last week before we start feeling gidy over them. This is going to be a tough game for them. I sure hope last week wasnt a build up for a letdown like the win over Tennessee was. We'll see!
