Default USA Today Sports Weekly

This weeks issue of USA Today Sports Weekly has Andre Johnson on the cover and five (count 'em) stories on the Texans profiling the Texans' up-and-down quest to post a winning record with stories on Andre Johnson, Mario Williams and David Carr with a "rookie profile" of Brian Cushing.

Nothing earth-shattering in any of them if you already follow the team but an impressive overview of where we are as a franchise that's not overly positive or negative.

I did learn that McNair sold his Kentucky thoroughbred horse farm to focus more attention on the Texans. And also learned that David Carr believes he can still be a starter in the NFL.

The timing of this story seems curious, given that most articles of this type are about a team before the season starts (especially the Texans who are perennial preseason prediction playoff teams) and before they are no better than .500 after the first quarter of the season, but then I remembered that we are celebrating the 10th anniversity this month of the announcement of the NFL returning to Houston.

Well maybe he will get a chance to audition for other teams if Manning cant go on Sunday.... If Carr plays then I say he will have a solid day. It makes a world of difference when you are quarterbacking on a team that doesn't suck haha.
