maybe I am reading too much into it. This almost sounds like somebody is getting cut.

IR'd on a one-year contract. He probably wasn't happy his name was never mentioned as a potential starter. The guy did go to a pro-bowl, so my guess is that he's on to find a new job--after that forearm heals up.

IMO it means his time in Houston is over. He was IRed, and will most likely be given an injury settlement and then be allowed to play wherever he can find a roster spot.

Well, that's too bad. I thought Cato could bring some experience and leadership to the defense, along with good play.

Well OK, an injury settlement, but doesn't that amount to the same thing? He won't play for the Texans.

As far as we know he has not been offered a settlement. But IMO it appears that is where this is heading.
