Default Lance Zierlein's Texans Draft Board

This post is his board for the offense. He promises a post for the defense is forthcoming. While I don't agree with a few of the players he has on there (McCoy in the 2nd makes me), this is pretty insightful to how the team ought to be approaching the draft.

Quote:
I've made several calls and done hours of homework to try and come up with a "Texans-Only Draft Board" that features players who I believe fit what the Texans are looking for on both sides of the ball. I've also included some players who play positions that wouldn't be considered priority positions in this draft but who would represent great value for the Texans if they were still on the board when the Texans selected.

Yea I am pretty mad he has Wells but not Donald Brown, who he admits is a fit.

I'm starting to wonder about TEs now to replace Breuner.

John Phillips (Virginia)
Richard Quinn (N.Carolina)

Wonder if Clark Harris , 6-5, 265 , who is our current LS/TE will be the ogoing LS and blocking TE? looks like good size, skill flexibility. Seemed to me he did ok those last four games.

Default LZs Texans' Draft Board (continued) - Defense

Z-Report Says: Raji and Curry are unlikely to fall to the Texans and I don't see them in a hurry to trade up either. I honestly believe that Matthews is a guy they would have no problems drafting and plugging into the strong-side LB spot. Malcolm Jenkins might be the safest pick in the first round even if he has a pedestrian 40-time. What the Texans might like about Jenkins is that they could play him at CB right away and then transition him to FS in a couple of years. I believe that the Texans will look to trade back first and foremost and if that happens, Darius Butler and Peria Jerry could be in the picture late in the first. People in the know tell me that DeMeco Ryans "can't run" and that he would be a liability in coverage as anything other than a MLB, but if the Texans feel otherwise, Maualuga could be in play if they trade back.
