Most teams are reluctant to say exactly who they might have wanted instead of the guy they took because they want to schmooz the media into putting out that "we got the guy we wanted all along", b.s. and because they also want the player to think the team that drafted him had him rated really high.
You don't want to go back to your top draft pick and say "All the good ones were already taken so we took you...". |

I think it was meant as we would have been happy with any of these four, not we got stuck with left-overs towards Brown. Now with the other three going higher than Brown the only logical assumption is that he was the lowest rated on their board, but it's not like the Texans have never gone against the grain. It really doesn't matter what the fans think, and if Brown seems like he was insulted then I'm sure the Texans are smart enough to show him their draft board where he was ranked the highest....doctored if necessary.
