He played part time and was OK. That OK was better then Matt Stevens and most of the prior Texans safeties he could be compared to, but he was an NFL journeyman.

In his last season in Houston he had 29 tackles, 1 INT, and 3 passes defensed in 16 games. Assuming you are correct and he had substantial playing time, he did so without accomplishing much.

When a GM lets that kind of player go, I can't blame him.

When the same guy goes to Carolina the next season and triples his production, and then puts in 2 good years in SD, I question the coaching staff in Houston who got little out of him in two years.
