Default [Cowher interested in becoming Texans HC] Finally, Music to my ears...

Bill Cowher is interested in the possible Texans HC job, is being reported by Colin Cowherd on his show "The Herd".

Two other HC jobs he's also interested in is the Dolphins and the Giants, although Sparano isn't likely to get fired from the Dolphins. Coughlin(Giants) has the possibility of getting fired if they don't reach the playoffs.

Colin also suggested that the Texans' job is the best "fit" for Bill Cowher.

Hope Bob McNair is listening.

That would be great except a) we'd have to switch to a 3-4 and b) I have to question Cowher's commitment after being out of coaching a couple of years. Otherwise, I'm on board. Git 'er done, Bob.

I've begin to hear from inside sources (not mine) that McNair does indeed plan to keep the staff next year. We'll see if a 5-11 finish and a slew of ticket cancellations changes that thinking.

The guy is clueless when it comes to football. He is making money so in his mind he must be on the right track. Plus the other owners gave him their approval.

I heard (somewhere, can't remember where) that Cowher is being considered for the Texans HC job. They said he had a very good relationship with McNair and likes the organization. He would keep the offense the way it is.

I don't prefer Cowher but I could get behind the decision.

I was excited to hear Cowher was interested in coaching the Texans until I also heard he wants total control. GM control. I wouldn't want him with that type of power. If McNair could get him to come in and just be the head coach I would be happy with that. Regardless I would fire Kubiak and Bush at the very least. Kubiak should have never been given that extension. Bob would be able to fire him after this season ended with no salary to pay. And please don't use the looming lockout as an excuse to keep Kubiak.
