Man, Dorin Dickerson must really suck, is a real problem child, or got popped for drugs during the Combine.

He went #92 to Cleveland.

Ok, I couldn't get Daniel Te'o-Nesheim b/c Philly stole him. Then Everson Griffen was snatched up before we could get him in the 4th. So, I'm going off my draft board and taking a guy that I WANT. He is really a good value at #197.

I thought Jared Gaither was the largest human being I had ever seen.

Trindon Holliday. Does this mean that we are cutting ties with Jacoby Jones?

I think maybe they will use him at WR more, and let this waterbug return some kicks and punts. It should make the Special Teams better.

Trindon Holliday (born April 27, 1986) is a top-ranked American sprinter currently competing for Louisiana State University. He also plays running back and wide receiver for the LSU Tigers football team. He is regarded as one of the fastest players in football.[1]
He demonstrated his sprinting ability in the 100-meter dash at the 2007 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, where he recorded 10.07 seconds in the final – ahead of Walter Dix and second only to Tyson Gay.[2] This qualified him for the 2007 World Championships in Athletics but he opted to not compete, preferring to begin the football season with the LSU Tigers.[3] He continued to race, however, and reached the semi-finals in the 100 m at the 2008 United States Olympic Trials the following year.[4] During the 2010 NFL Combine, ESPN reported that he ran a 4.22, which would have beaten Chris Johnson's NFL record fastest time of 4.24. However, NFL.com said he did not break the records, listing Holliday's times at 4.27 and 4.32.[5]

My guy is faster than your guy.
This is gonna be a fun pick to watch. I've seen this guy in big-time track meets. When they use the term "world-class sprinter", they mean that for real on this speed merchant.

We have one last pick, right? My last pick, if he's still there is a WR from Louisville.

WR Scott Long 6'2" 216 Louisville 4.46 20 41.5 2.58 1.49 10.25 6.45 4.09 0.37 71.75 12.03 5.96 0.37 14.61

This draft is the definition of why the texans are a mediocre football team that has no substantial identity. No sense of any real direction and in my opinion do a sub par job of identifying needs.

I absolutely hate the laissez faire attitude this team takes toward addressing the lines.

2006: Mario, Spencer, Winston
2007: Okoye, BFrye, Studdard
2008: DBrown, Okam
2009: Barwin, Caldwell
2010: Earl Mitchell, SSmith

okay so that's 3 1sts, 1 second, 4 3rds, 2 5th, 2 6ths

not to mention: trade for Chris Myers, signing of Antonio Smith, signing of Sean Cody, signing of Rashod Butler, signing of Wade Smith

I don't know about you, but it seems like they've been working at improving the lines to me.

I definitely don't agree. You look at how Smith maneuvered, and he covered every major need we had. CB, RB, DT, G and a free agent G... What did he miss? Also added more depth at TE, LB, CB, and found a kick returner that reminds me of JJ Moses...but faster and quicker.

All around great draft in my opinion.

I am so with you. We need to hire Gruden and draft OL OL DT DT way before you go with a ST guy from Miami, and then another ST guy from LSU. I like Holiday but that is a luxury and it points to Andre Davis being gone.

painekiller 04-24-2010 02:53 PM

Jeff Byers? Or Matthews?

painekiller 04-24-2010 02:55 PM

Or Lonyae Miller, or Warren is still on the board also.

While I respect your concern about our lines I don't get your suggestion that we don't address the lines in the draft...you may not like the picks but 3 of the last 5 1st rnd picks were lineman...a 2nd last year and a 3rd this year...not to mention Winston was a 3rd too

I remember last year a lot of eye rolling when glover was selected and he turned out to be an excellent pick

same with od

Either way, they got their top rated cb and their top rated rb...inarguably their two biggest holes...then grabbed a dt they clearly think is better than we do

it's make or break this year for this administration so they better be right on these picks, we'll find out in a few months

painekiller 04-24-2010 03:01 PM

BTW anyone else notice that Jags took my favorite late round guy Deji Karim.

painekiller 04-24-2010 03:08 PM

Another TE Dorin Dickerson from Pitt
