Josh McDaniels must be incredibly insecure as a young coach, because he apparently feels the need to assert his authority with all of his star players.

Denver Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall didn't travel with the team for a Saturday night preseason game in Seattle.

Marshall, who has completely recovered from offseason hip surgery and is ready to play, has most recently expressed dismay with the Broncos over their refusal to redo his contract or trade him and with their handling of his acquittal on battery charges last week, when players were told by a staffer not to say they were happy for him.

I understand being unhappy with Marshall, but actually telling his teammates to not express support, that is about as bush league as it comes. If the Broncos don't win early McDaniels is going to be in big trouble in that locker room.

The Broncos' schedule starts with three winnable games - Cincinnati, Cleveland and Oakland. The rest of their schedule is a torture chamber. The NFC East, the Patriots, the Colts, the Steelers, the Ravens, etc. No way this team reaches .500 even if they solved half the problems they have now.

Brandon Marshall has now been suspended after acting like a pouting child at a practice this week. He's been trying to get either a new contract or a trade and it looks like he'll eventually get a trade.

The McDaniels Mutiny coninues...

I can't remember a team that has ever blown up like the Broncos have. They may give Detroit a run for their last place money. Coach duffas has them off to a great start.

I have Denver, Oakland, and Detroit as the most likely to be playing for the 1st pick.

Except Denver already traded their first pick next year to Seattle for some smurfish Pac-10 corner in the second round this year. They have Da Bears' #1. Oops.

Well then Seattle might be getting the 1st pick in the draft for CB Alphonso Smith.

BTW I had Smith rated as a 1st rounder so taking him at #37 is a solid pick. Still this is a trade the Broncos regret next off season.
