Given the internal replacement in Caldwell, I'm not sure this has an immediate impact to the Colts' chances in 2009, but a change seems like it ought to weaken them, right?

Please? :p

I think it has to. Maybe Caldwell is all that and a bag of chips. Who knows. IMO opinion Dungy was a "special" person and I think the Colts have to suffer from that.

Also, Schwartz leaving the Titans should weaken them. Just let DelRio be Delrio and that should weaken the Jags.

Haynesworth will be more of a factor than Swartz. Fisher is the real DC there.

Pension changes seem to be forcing the old Colts coaches into retirement.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4143964

Offensive line coach Howard Mudd has informed the Colts he is planning to retire immediately because of the pension-plan changes, according to team and league sources. ...

Mudd has served as the Colts line coach for 12 years with Tom Moore as offensive coordinator under two head coaches, Jim Mora and Tony Dungy, who retired in January. ...

There are other long-tenured coaches older than 65 in the NFL who face the same dilemma, including the 70-year-old Moore, who was also unavailable for comment.
