Default Jags Release Fred Taylor

Is there any chance the Texans would try to make a play for him? He and Slayton would be a pretty good tandem. Assuming he could stay healthy.

I personal have seen enough over the hill rbs to last me a life time. If you mean setting on e as something left in the tank I would agree.

I agree, at 33, injured last three games of 2008, only 1 TD in 08, considered third , fourth best RB in Jacksonville, lowest production in his career, not good signs of a strong future. I wouldn't pick him up for sure.

The problem is that we have a desperate need for a veteran that can lighten the load for Slaton. Fred Taylor, at 33, simply isn't reliable enough to do that. He's simply too likely to break down or get injured considering the only other veterans on our roster are Chris Brown, Chris Taylor, and Moats. I'd like to see a couple veterans that are younger with less injury history.

FYI Chris Taylor was released sometime during the season, I doubt he will be back.

I am shocked Brown is still here. Doubt he breaks camp with us.

I suspect that may have something to do with not having an injury settlement in place. They can't cut him until then. I'm not sure what the rules are regarding a player who will not accept one or can't reach agreement on one. It would seem to me that at some point in time, the team can unload a player, just not sure when that time is and what the cap and salary implications are.
