Another one for the scrap head?

@AdamSchefter: Filed to ESPN: Vikings plan to release Donovan McNabb today, according to a league source.

although McNabb hasn't done too good this year or last, wonder if Texans should give him a tryout?

Don't think they will get the chance. He will be claimed by someone. Honestly, based on McNabb's disaster with Shannahan, I would doubt Kubiak would go down that road. But who the hell knows. He does know the system.

@RickSmith1956: Sage Rosenfels is healthy and removed from NFI list today by the Dolphins. He has to clear waivers.

Interesting review on Yates from Prisco @ CBS:
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/1...y-gets-tougher

"Here's what I saw: A poised rookie who did scan the field when he made throws and made good reads on several of his passing plays. He also has an arm that is good enough, even if he didn't really make any deep throws against the Jaguars."

Sage claimed by Vikings.
McNabb went unclaimed, and is now a FA.

The Falcons though have at least as good an offense as the Texans have seen since mid-October, plus they ain't too shabby at run defense, too.

So please, Kubes, please let Yates run the show. Play like you have nothing to lose. This is a home game against a non-conference opponent anyway. Give the guys the ol' "it's us against the world" speech pregame. Then live and die with your defense and a QB who many, including yours truly, thought outplayed Leinart in August anyway.

Apparently, Kubiak is reading this site and took our good advice. Happy to see Yates throwing the ball deep yesterday. Wish Andre had made that first catch. Anyway, I am content with Yates as the QB.

lol, yep, right down to the pregame speech. Kubes used the early betting line (where the Texans were 3-point dogs) to motivate his team throughout the week.

Brett Hartman is done. Torn ACL according to Kubiak.

They are bringing in multiple guys tomorrow.

IMO Turk is the early favorite, like it or not. I am a not liking that.

I literally rolled my eyes when he said that.....

Good news on Dre - Mild sprain - Day to day. Don't think we'll see him this week, but definitely good news.

Wow. Turk does sound like the best option of that group. Plus the Texans can use his AARP card for discounts in hotels and restaurants.

This must've been on the pregame bit, but pretty much answers my original question of who's next up.

Just based on the stat line Dodge looks the best option, but I know squat about him.

You know what, I was sitting around last night wondering to myself why the hell not? I mean, seriously, why not?

And then trolling around on other boards I found this and I couldn't believe it. I watched this video ten times in a row, happier and happier each time. I have no idea why I didn't post it here then, my apologies. Thanks for sharing, WMH.

Again, I ask, why the hell not?

Preach it Chuck!

Thought this was interesting....
@MarkBermanFox26: Texans have released QB Kellen Clemens and placed punter Brett Hartmann on IR.

SR610: SportsRadio 610 and chron.com's John McClain reports the Texans have waived Kellen Clemens and have plans to sign Jeff Garcia as their new third QB.

@McClain_on_NFL: Texans are bringing back punter Matt Turk, 43. He punted for them from 2007-2010. Rookie Brett Hartmann was placed on IR today.

I suppse we should welcome those two young men, Mr Turk and Mr. Garcia as two newestTexans in 2011.

Surely they both will contribute well when called on as well as help the team with all their experience.

Turk probably made sense since punter holds for kicker and he did that well last year.
