Not sure if you've seen this, but pretty good read on Mallett's story.

Hope he doesn't suck....

Mallett look great, IMO. That one INT was somewhat poor placement and it just looked like he put too much air under it. As I watched it live, I just sensed that he floated it too much and the defender was going to be able to make a play on it. Had he thrown to the pylon side or maybe with less air, it likely would've been a TD. In addition, he obviously had his mind set on going to that left side to Hopkins, but after watching the replay, I think AJ (or someone) was wide open on the right side. Live and learn, but GM1 was extremely positive and I'm excited to watch our boys again.

Some interesting stats posted on Twitter today:

Ryan Mallett's average time per pass attempt was 2.06 seconds vs CLE. Off the charts fast, lowest in the league this week.

More Mallett: When ball was out in under 2.5 secs passer rating was 123.1, when it was >2.5 seconds: 31.3 passer rating.

Ya, heard those numbers on the radio today. Just excellent and an excellent strategy for breaking in a new QB. I give the coaching staff high marks for having the young man prepped and for having a plan of attack - quick hitter passes, a few deep shots, lean on the running game.... That's the way to break in a new QB......
