Like I said, Jacoby is not a professional football player. A thirty yard return makes no difference if you don't hold onto the football.

The ground caused the fumble but no excuse not to hold on. You can't presume refs will get the call right, even with replay.

Makes it 3rd and 1 with 1:14 left in the half. Pass to OD gets about 8 or 9, 1st down. Pass to OD good for 5 or 6. Pass to AJ gets the 1st down at the Texan 46. Timeout Texans with 45 seconds left. Pass to JJ inc at the sideline. Pass to OD complete and the ball gets poked out of his hands. Niners recover at the the Texan 48. |

It looks like (and it may be a reality) that the Texans are finally good enough to where their mistakes don't immediately doom them against mediocre competition. You can't turn the ball over three times in a half against a real AFC team and expect not to get blown out, but against the 50% of the schedule (or more) that's not elite, maybe they can.
I'd sure like to cut down on the idiotic TOs, though. |

The turnovers are ugly, but good god, this looks like the varsity scrimmaging the JV. San Francisco is that bad. Is it possible that a guy as competitive as Harbaugh wants to go 0-16 so he can draft Andrew Luck. Because I honestly cannot imagine an NFL team being less talented.
And our defense looks really good even if it is against the Washington Generals. |

Just up the road from Candlestick, the Giants have a 1-0 lead on the Astros. The Giants are starting a pitcher they just called up from AAA but he ought to feel comfortable facing a AAA batting lineup.
