Default Texans sign Deltha O'Neal

A blurb on CBS Sportsline says the Texans signed Deltha O'Neal to a contract today.

The former Denver and Cincinnati CB is an undersized player who makes big plays and big blunders. Great kick returner but we really don't need one given who we already have in camp.

I wonder if this is just a chess move in the Dunta battle. He could be a good nickel back but I really don't want him on an island any more than I want Jacques Reeves on an island.

Probably just a temp hire that will give some vet experience for the young guys to lean on and maybe play a little till Reeves comes back. IMO, there was a real need for a vet to do some mentoring with all the young talent we have.

I'm also reading that the Texans added another former Bronco, RB Andre Hall. He's a HB/FB hybrid without much wiggle but better power than your typical Bronco-type back. Jeremiah Johnson was waived but he could wind up on the practice squad if he isn't claimed.

JJ needs to get that shoulder fixed and then come back next year and take another run at it.
