Default What are you wanting to see at the open practices?

I want to see the big guys go one on one. I want to see Caldwell, Okam and Okoye mainly. Oh and Barwin vs Brown, should let us know where each guy is in development.

I am curious about the d'fense and how they come off the line during the 11 on 11.

And I want to see the three guys battling for the WILL.

That is my agenda for the open practices.

I think it will be a while (not during TC), but the defense is my area to scope out this year. I want to see all the revamping and new faces pay some big dividends in first, stopping the run, then getting more ints and turnovers.

What info do you want a report on during the open training camp practices. I know aj and Steph will be reporting from camp. And I will be adding my 2cents.

Reminds me of a couple big grizzlys going at in a National Geographic special. I would pay, pay good money to see those matchups. Problem is when the public goes to these practices there's no assurances you'll even see any contact.
The best practice session I ever attended was several years ago when the Broncos were in town and they scrimmaged with the Texans. And this year they will probably do the same when the Saints are in town, but no public access to that session. That sucks.

The morning practice seem to have more contact then the late practices. I got to see the big guys a few times in one on one drills.

Well, I'll try to make it and watch the tight ends. Seems we have 4 pretty good TE's at the moment. Actually DL as well is pretty interesting.

PK, I'm like you, I have a special interest this year in the Dline & LBs, but most especially how well Okam & Okoye are progressing. Next would be rooks Barwin & Cushing. Can't go myself anymore because I just can't take the heat of these Texas summers like I used to.

I second the motion. Is it me or does there seem to be more season ending injuries in camp and early on the last few years vs. previous seasons? Or is it cause I pay more attention since I've been playing fantasy football?

fantasy football has made you more aware of all the teams.

Woke up this morning all excited, for some reason I was thinking that training camp was opening this week. Then I clued in, not this coming Friday but next Friday, shoot.

I want this off season to hurry up and get over.

I want to see how well Barwin turns the corner on his pass rush. His background says he's a developmental guy, and most DL's take at least a year to develop. That being said there have been a few rookie splashes; narrowing his focus to rush the QB from the RE may pay off. Connor seems to be a quick learner, and he's got the athleticism and long arms to be an edge speed rusher. Kollar's experience with smaller ends helps as well.

I also think Brown, will get all the practice reps he needs. Some reps against an all around beast like Mario, and some against a speed rusher in Barwin. He should be ready to go by game 1.
