Official Texans vs. Colts Game Thread, 10/16/2016
Week 6 finds the 2-3 Indianapolis Colts visiting the Texans on a SNF broadcast. Last week, the Colts defeated the Chicago Bears 29-23 in a home game. On the season, Colts QB Andrew Luck has thrown for 10 TD's with just 3 INT's and has a 95.4 rating. WR T.Y. Hilton is averaging 101.4 yds/gm. RB Frank Gore is on pace for a 1,000 yd rushing season. The Colts would love to take this one as it would vault them into 1st place in the AFC South after being buried just a few short weeks ago.
The 3-2 Texans are coming off a 31-13 road loss to the Minnesota Vikings. QB Brock Osweiler has been less than stellar but if ever there was a time to pad his stats, it should come against the Colt's defense (30th in yds/game, 30th in pts./game). The Texans are 5-23 all time vs. the Colts. Great lineup for Sunday before our game. Don't know whether to watch the Cinci vs Pats or the young Philly QB on the early game ?
Last night the SB champs Broncos didn't look so formidable in San Diego so could be the Raiders are the team to beat in the AFC West.

As for the Colts, we have to be able to shut down Luck's top weapon, T.Y. Hilton. Do that and I feel good. But doing that is also easier said than done.
I want to see Braxton Miller become a weapon again. Get some early completions for Osweiler to gain some confidence and then work Hopkins and Fuller into some deeper passes.

Fuller is active. He's not 100% so we'll see how much he's used as something other than a decoy.

Pass too high to Hopkins, inc. Brings up 3rd and 10. Oz is sacked and fumbles but the Texans recover it. Texans will punt on 4th and 19. Colts bring the punt back to their 46. Colt's ball. 13:14 left in the 1st qtr.

Gore hit in the backfield for a 4 yard loss. Brings up 3rd and 5. Flags presnap. False start Colts, -5. Makes it 3rd and 10 coming up. Pass to Allen broken up by Pleasant, inc. Colts to punt. Ervin fair catches at the Texan 10 yard line. Texan's ball.

Luck nearly sacked but gets the pass out, inc. 2nd and 10 coming up.
Gore for almost 5. 3rd and 5 coming up. Luck scrambles for 6 and the 1st down at the Texan 39. Gore goes around right end for almost 8. 2nd and 2 coming up. Gore for 5 and the 1st down. Pass to Turbin gets about 8. Ball at the Texan 17. Turbin caught for a loss of 1. 3rd and 3 coming up. Pass to Dorsett goes inc. Colts to go for the FG. Vinatieri's 36-yarder is good but a flag is down. Illegal formation Colts, -5, rekick. 41 yard FG is good. Colts 3, Texans 0 5:56 left in the 1st qtr.

I know, let's just run L Miller up the gut .....
-------------------------------------------- Luck gets 3 yards while avoiding the rush. On 2nd and 7, screen to Gore goes for nice gainer but flags are down....ineligible receiver downfield, -5. 2nd and 12 coming up. Missed tackles allow a flat pass to Rogers go for a big gainer. Ball at the Texan 26. Gore for 1. Pass to Doyle gets 6. 3rd and 3 coming up. Gore for 4 and the 1st down. Gore for 3. Ball at the 11 yard line. Pass to Doyle goes to the 1 yard line.....flag down....holding on the Colts makes it 2nd and 17. End of the 1st qtr.

Just my opinion:
Our WR are getting bitch slapped... It is an insult to press man a guy the whole game...and they can't get a step on the guy... Without at least a step or two...Brock is not accurate enough make the tight throw... The book is out on our receivers...none can get open against press coverage...even DHOP
