I'm a little sad to see one our top players for Texans depart.
Thanks Arian and best to you and family in the future. A link to a few memories http://www.houstonpress.com/news/ari...s-over-8213937 Last edited by Nconroe; 03-03-2016 at 11:07 AM. |

He is either the 2nd or 3rd best player in team history. Our first national star, and represented the team well on most levels. He has had a few hiccups, but he will be missed.
Wish the man well.

The old second contract curse. Cool guy. Great story. But this you could see coming a long way off. This doubles, at least, our available cap room.

We have $40MM plus available cap. It will be interesting to see who they resign and which FAs they sign.

Saw this re-tweet on the Twit. From Foster's Instagram account:

That is a nice tweet message from Arian. I think for most part he has gotten along great with his team-mates, coaches, and fans, and national media, only a few local media have had their feathers ruffled.
I've enjoyed Arians unique personality and humor. His play in 2011 and 2012 was fantastic, seemed like if Arian ran over 25 times in a game we won. And he had some great performances in playoff games. Then he went to 4 pro-bowls and was once selected All-pro. I'm glad I got a Foster t-shirt as well. Atleast he did get that second pretty good contract which he definitely deserved. Cutting Arian added about 6.5 of the 40 mil in cap space Texans now have. Today Texans also cut TE Garrett Graham and FS Rahim Moore, these three added about 10 mil to 29 mil Texans already had in cap space. Wish them all well. |

Which teams is he allowed to sign with and keep you as a fan Bob?

Arian is a black man with opinions of his own. Fandom inconceivable. Acquiescence just possible if reunited with favorite team and Kubiak, and, as we are reminded, Super Bowl 50 Champions. Serendipitously the Roman numeral for 50 is L.

I was trying to figure how I got dragged into this and then I remembered the AJ-to-the-Colts discussion.
I'm consistent. If Arian signs a deal with the Colts, I'd wish for him the same I wished for A.J. Are all the cards in your deck race cards? |

Is this directed at me?
You know, it's funny. I have the outrageous good fortune to be able to exclude and ignore considerations of race almost completely from my life. That is because of, in what I deem at present to be descending order: what I am, who I am, who I have become over time, and where I live. So allow me to state happily that in this game I simply play the cards that are dealt to me. I do not doubt that for one moment, Baubles. |

The day is going to come when J.J. Watt isn't going to be worth his contract and the inference is I'll feel different about it because he is white. Race has nothing to do with it and I'd sing the same tune if he signs with a division rival and talks like he wants to get revenge on the team that released him. IMO, that's what A.J. did and what Arian has yet to do. Arian didn't bitch on his way out the door. He was classy to the max about it. He understood that the NFL is a business and guys who don't produce what they get paid (for any reason) won't keep their contracts for long.

Bob, it's great to hear you can be a douche to all races equally. It's also great to hear that you are already planning who you will be a douche to years in advance.

The last thing I'd want to be known as is an unprepared bigoted douche so I guess I'm okay by Barrett

Absolutely. And I'm pretty sure I'm ok by you as long as I stay off the Colts' boards.

One of the guys who's also a partner in my futbol team posted a picture this morning of a kid wearing an Arsenal hat, a Tottenham scarf, a Chelsea jersey, a Manchester United jacket, and he's holding a Manchester City jersey. Who knows what sort of socks he has on. We have another partner who follows a slew of teams and we never miss an opportunity to mock him. Hell, this guy even follows another team IN OUR OWN LEAGUE because his son plays on a junior team of theirs or some nonsense.
Anyway, I like to imagine Bob sitting at the bar at Sam's Boat in his jean shorts, white high top Chuck Taylors, I was going to say a JJ Watt jersey but that's ridiculous, surely a David Carr jersey and a worn, bright orange adjustable Broncos cap that he bought at Mile High back in 1982. I'd like to think that occasionally he sneaks on a stylish Nuggets headband and imagines himself Kiki Vandeweghe, but try as I might I can't see him wearing the headband out to Sam's. Not on football Sundays, at any rate. |

First of all, I know exactly what you look like so I would not be caught unawares if I ran into you at Sam's on Mopac and Breaker or Pluckers on 183 and Burnet or wherever else you hang out. Second, I don't believe you are a sports bar jerk; in fact I imagine that you are quite agreeable in person - for relatively short stretches, anyway. In all seriousness I think you wear a loud, floral print Tommy Bahama sort of shirt 80% of the time. And let's face it, that's a sweet look with the Chucks and the headband. |
