Texans win on kick by Brown. Once again, Kubiak turns away and refuses to watch the kick. I can't exactly say why, but that really bothers me.

Eh, he's just being a fan about it. Often times, I'll look away in those situations too. A huge pitch, a field goal, a crucial b-ball possession, free throws, etc...

Meh, big time Poker pros do it all the time on critical hands. IMO, it's not a weakness....

Yeah, I'm familiar with him. We get him often it seems. But today I found him overly excited and overly annoying.

I realize it's probably not a big deal and like I said, I really can't explain why I don't like it. I do think poker is different in that you have no control over the cards and you are at the mercy of deal. Football, not so much.

The Texans are getting to be the heart attack kids. Who would have thought we could have 4 turnovers against GB in 5 degree weather, and still pull out the win. We are ever so slowly turning the corner from also ran to a pretty decent team. Not playoff caliber mind ya, that will come after next years draft, IMO.
Yahoo, Slaton the rookie RB, got his 1000 yds rushing today. We sure got a good one when we got him.

To take the poker analogy a bit further, Kubiak went all in and bet everything on one turn of the cards. It was out of his control at that point, but he drew his cards and won. If he couldn't look, no biggie. |

Poker, especially Texas Hold 'em, is really boring guys. The name of the game is BlackJack !
But congrats to the Texans, I'm truly proud of them today ! I never thought they'd go up there to Green Bay after the short week and all with the big emotional win on their first ever MNF game and beat the Packers. Especially when they needed to over come what, 4 turnovers vs the 1 for GB ? |

The offense was very good today. Turnovers kept it from being excellent, but give the Packers credit for making plays on OD and Steve. We left alot..alot of points out on the field.
One thing I can say, I know there are Kubiak detractors, but these guys have not quit on him. They might not play the smartest, cleanest football, but they have nutted up and played ball even after the poor start. I think he deserves credit for having the team prepared and not quitting (see jacksonville, Cleveland, Oakland etc). I don't know who kidnapped Richard Smith, but the defense is playing totally different since Dunta came back.

The team is getting off the field on third downs, too. I think Dunta's return has something to do with that. Mario becoming a little more terrifying has something to do with that as well. and btw, Gus Johnson is Gus Johnson, but I thought Steve Tasker did a fine job next to him today. It's pretty easy to knock these guys as a group, but Tasker is getting better at this job. |

Tasker had it exactly right. Turnovers are killing the Texans and penalties are killing the Packers. Take away the TOs and we win by 20. Take away the penalties and they win by 20.
The Texans handle the cold better than you think. I remember when they beat the Bears in 12-degree weather. I think it's because they are all Virginians. Good win and I think 8-8 is becoming more doable. Perhaps the Titans will lay down a little now that they've clinched the division. If I were Fisher, I'd sit Collins this week and start Vince. It would help Collins heal up and help Vince get back some confidence in a low-risk situation. |

I hate Steve Tasker! Sorriest color guy in anybody's booth. Always rags on the Texans. After GB scored to tie the game he practicaly assured the T.V. audience that GB would win. He don't know squat!!!!

I think it's all of those factors, as well as the addition of Adibi, better (er, at least more consistent) play at the NT and S positions, and more aggressive play calling. While the D' played well today, and big kudos go out to them, they were probably lucky most of those knucklehead offensive turnovers happened deep in our own territory.

Surprisingly, the Texans are still mathematically in the playoff hunt. They probably need to win all their games and everyone in front of them to lose them all, but they're still in it.
