Cowboys kick a FG with 29 seconds left in the game.

Texans 24, Cowboys 6

I don't care if it's a pre-season game, the Super Bowl or a charity softball game, beating the hell out of the Cowboys is always good.

In his post game presser, Kubiak announced Travardo rolled his ankle.

How convenient........

All tonight really proved is that our depth is better than their depth.

I made the mistake of recording the Cowboys telecast instead of the Texans one (both were available in Austin) and it was tolerable until the second-half where they held about a 20-minute love-fest between Michael Irvin and Dez Bryant (if there were smilies for gag and puke I would have added those).

Cierre Wood would have rushed for over 150 yds were it not for penalties and Babe Laufenberg said correctly, "He (Wood) has made somebody's roster tonight. They (the Texans) won't be able to hide him after tonight."

Meanwhile, Dennis Johnson loses a fumble and muffs three punts (losing one erased on a Dallas penalty), has some nice runs and I'll bet you anything the Texans will cut Wood and keep Johnson. (more gag, puke smilies).

Other than that, a satisfying win.

Well guess that's one less body at OLB to consider - T. Williams to IR.
Now Cushings return so far from his ACL is impressive, but the Texans' comeback player of the year award has got to go to Posey. Achilles injury in the playoffs
vs NE, and now he's back on the field making plays including that nice catch over the middle last night just 7 months after being carted off of the field.
And finally got a glimpse of Brennan Williams: the big boy has some mobility, can get down field. Maybe it's not too late for him to help us this year ?

So true.

If the Texans cut Wood to try and get him on their PS, I will be quite unhappy. Of the three (Wood, Johnson, Graham), I thought Wood seemed like the one whose college success wouldn't translate as well, and boy was I wrong. I love his slash-n-go style of downfield running. He isn't messing around.

I was surprised Johnson had the trouble fielding punts. Talent is there too. Guys like Karim, and maybe including Karim himself, are going to be around on waivers. The upside that Wood and Johnson have is just too good.

Lechler. The man.

I was also pretty happy with TE Ryan Griffin. He's gonna fit right in here for sure.

Watching the defense, it is easy to see how suspect they are to the screens. And my fear going into the Chargers game is that the screen will be their best and only offensive play, so hopefully Wade realizes this and tries to keep from blitzing 5 players every down.
