Default Apparently Brad Johnson wasn't bad enough for the cowgirls....

...So they went and picked up the quarterback from the worst team in NFL history. Cowboys fans, say hello to Jon Kitna. As a Texans fan living in Dallas these days, its a lot of fun watching them self-destruct, but its going to be down right ugly if Romo goes down and Kitna has to go in for any significant length of time.

While he's not great and there are certainly better options out there, IMO, Kitna is definitely an upgrade over the statuesque, weak-armed Johnson. Although, I am surprised they traded for him and didn't just wait for him to be released or looked at the available FA's.

Wait, are we talking about the Texans or the Cowboys?

I guess I had my foot shoved into my mouth with that one hahaha.... I posted it a few hours before the Orlovsky deal hit the press.

I'm far from a Cowboys fan, but I think picking up Kitna was a very, very smart move for them. The dropoff from Romo to Brad Johnson was terrifyingly steep, so much so that I'd say Kitna's probably only halfway between the two. I'd say he's got to automatically be one of the top backups in the league and could undoubtedly start for a few teams right now.

I agree. I think Kitna is a huge upgrade over Johnson. There were probably some younger options out there, but I think Jerry is in love with Romo still and just wanted a veteran.
