Speculation: Raiders releasing players???

I'm not sure how they're going to do it without killing themselves cap-wise for years, and I know they suck, but is there anyone we'd be interested in?

If one of those "high priced vets" included Fargas we could have ourselves a real nice compliment to Slaton. And while I know Bush isn't a "high priced veteran," he would be an even better compliment.

Hall would also obviously be an upgrade for us.

Hall has some baggage. He screamed at Petrino, and then forces a trade. The Raiders give him a huge contract and now might release him. That does not have a good smell.

His salary for 2008 is only $1 million; that equates to only $470,588 for a rest-of-year rental. Not bad

If Hall suffers a serious injury, that $16 million in unpaid bonus money becomes guaranteed. This would scare me.

actually, i heard that due to them releasing him at this time the injury bonus wouldnt kick in. also, whoever gets him will negotiate a new contract with him. his old contract has no bearing on any other team as this would not be a trade since he was cut

Not to me. Hall's been a big vortex of suck this year. He was never one-third as good as he made himself out to be, but before this year he was at least a starting-caliber cornerback, albeit not a good one. Then again, that could all be explained by him being overexposed. This year, playing opposite Asomugha, teams were throwing at him non-stop, as opposed to his days in Atlanta when the #2 corners were positively atrocious so he saw the ball come his way less.
