Rivers turned back into his usual pumpkin self once the D decided to get physical. That's how this D needs to play. Aggressive, fast and downhill. The O even picked up their pace and good things happened.

After Cushing's TD, I figgered we'd win. Took all the mojo out of the Charger huddle. SD had several late-game collapses in the Norv years and it's great to see they still have the same gift even with Norv gone.
![]() Weeks 3-5 are the real test (at BAL, vs SEA, at SF). That will tell us if the Texans are contenders or pretenders. Astros won, too. Now it's off to bed. |

I think Schaub looked pretty solid and leaderlike. Andre , DeAndre and OD had fantastics games. Defense really manned up. Special teams did good too. All around team success .

thoughts on the game:
the o-line looked off, even when they were in the middle of the comeback. schaub acutally moved around a little bit, though he did crumble a couple of times as well under the pass rush. while i know this probably happens in every game aroudn the league, there were numerous no calls on clear holds against jj throughout the game. even though he missed his first kick, i love having a kicker that has a chance from 60. special teams was better because of the kicker's ability to keep returns to a minimum. how about going with the sugar huddle from the beginning of the game, they seem to get into a rythym whenever they are using that. finally, the wheel route . . .they need to find a way to defend against that play or they are going to have a healthy dose of it all season long. |

Jeckyl and Hyde halves last night.
Freeney has always owned D Brown. Last night was no exception. I thought the right side played better than the left. If they can put both together, we should be OK. If L. Jean sees the field again in crucial situations, I'm going to be ![]() I thought Schaub looked pretty damn good. Moved well, threw good on the run. Pretty impressed with his night. Nuk is the real deal, and I am stoked he's here. Saw a couple of decent blocks from him as well. Kubes like that. Our LB's are abysmal in coverage. Swearinger had some +'s and -'s, but that's OK. The Ninja's absense was definitely noticed in JJ's production. Did anyone catch Foster's act on the sideline? I thought that was kinda bush league. I understand he wants to be in the game, but don't act like a little bitch when the coach is doing EXACTLY what he told everyone he was going to do, split carries.
