The problem is TT would have to be willing to give up his starting QB dreams for at least a half decade while becoming a situational player/TE/RB/whatever else Bellachik/McDaniels come up with for however many plays per game. Not sure Tebow will be open to that after the "success" of last season.
That was before they drafted Mallett, and before Gronk and Hernandez became one of the best TE combo's in the league. Plus, he's had a year to see what TT and the Tebowmaniacs are all about. Not saying it won't happen or no way he lands there, just saying it's highly unlikely, and a TT straight up for Mallett trade doesn't make much sense to me. They could probably get a #2 or high #3 for Mallett and aquire TT for as low as a #5 or #6.

First, I think Mallett is worth less and Tebow more than what you are suggesting. Mallett has done nothing since he was a low 3rd other than play preseason football. He is still very unathletic and a head case just like before the draft last year. Not to mention about a dozen struggling franchises would throw a mid round pick at Tebow just in the name of excitement.

But for NE, Tebow interest might make sense.

1. They showed prior interest and just added the guy who valued TT even more than them.
2. Belachik would not be scared off by fan sentiments. He does whatever he wants and has no accountability to his fan base at this point. Not to mention no NE fan would ask for him to play anytime in the next 5+ years.
3. The arrogance of Belachik/McDaniels matches up with what a coach would have to think of his coaching skills in order to think he could teach Tebow how to play QB,
4. The creative appeal in having a piece like that and figuring out how to use it.
5. Plus Belachik LOVES players with roster flexibility. He regularly deactivates good players who don't fit the week's gameplan (even starters). To not have to carry a 2nd QB would be very appealing.
6. If they did want him Mallett is gone anyways.

I am not saying it happens, but the deal makes a certain sense in both directions.

5 years, $96MM.

So much for that incentive laden contract the talking heads were talking about initially....

Broncos fans better hope he is healthy.

Edit....maybe he did give them an out.
Year 1 $18mm gtd.
Yes 2 and 3 gtd. at $20mm per IF he passes a physical after next season.
Haven't seen any particulars on the balance.
