There was enough positives to be thankful for that a few bad plays by Fred Bennett.Bennett is gone. Move on.
Funny you posted this because I was browsing the texanstalk.com board yesterday and was just about ready to claw my eyes out because of all the complaints about not trying to send the game to overtime and just general complaints about the playcalling and execution in the 4th quarter by guys who most likely will never sniff the field for the Texans when the season starts.

Virtually all the players who will see significant time once the season starts played well. Aside from the Tate injury (and I guess the Slaton fumble), I'm very pleased with the first outing.

Finally, while it's not really happening here, I've heard lots of complaints about not letting Rackers kick in a "pressure, end-of-game" situation.
Since both kickers are competing for 1 spot, isn't every kick for Rackers and Brown a pressure kick where 1 miss may be the difference, whether it is in the 1st quarter or 4th? Plus, by alternating between the two, each can only expect 1 or 2 opportunities per game. I can't imagine either guy thinks he has any margin for error, no matter when in the game he is kicking.
