Default Titans' primary jerseys now light blue [The Tennessean]

Quote:
They have switched their primary home jersey to light blue after wearing navy blue since 1999. The organization recently notified the NFL of the decision. ...

They are 4-0 over the past two seasons and 7-3 overall since the light blue was first introduced as the “third jersey” in 2003.

Bud slowly remaking the Titans back into the Memphis Oilers...

What's the Over/Under on when the Texans make the official switch from Steel Blue to Battle Red?

I hope it is soon. There aren't that many NFL teams left who still use red as a primary color since the Patriots switched to navy and the Falcons switched to black.

The Chiefs, Buccaneers, Cardinals, 49ers and Redskins (sorta) are the only teams that use red as a primary color.

The Bills, Patriots, Dolphins, Colts, Texans, Titans, Jaguars, Chargers, Broncos, Giants, Cowboys, Lions, Bears, Rams, Panthers and Seahawks all use some form of blue as a primary color.

IMO, Battle Red would increase the team's identity and help it shed the expansion image the team is still saddled with. Besides, the Texans traditionally play better in Battle Red.

but really red, white and blue (in any order) is pretty overdone. i love the texans but i never got why they chose such a basic, overused trio of colors instead of something...not so much gaudy....but unique.

me too. the battle red jerseys (from thursday night against denver) are the only ones i ever got hyped on. except that the bigger guys, winston, mario and such looked weird in shiny red pants. those are for sure the only uniforms that ever gave an identity to the team. red helmets!!

Red, White and Blue - colors of the Texas flag. Just guessing why they choose the color scheme. I have no problem with the colors, LOVE the logo.
I think the focus group that was put together had alot to do with the color scheme.

I myself love the Red Jersey, White Pants, Blue Helmets and Red Shoes uniform package.

Not a fan of the unicolor uni's on Deep Steel Blue Sunday or the all red, but just my opinion.
