I actually would have preferred that the Texans draft diminutive CB Alphonso Smith from Wake forest with their first round pick instead of Cushman on the theory that we really needed help at the all-important corner back position and that competant 4-3 Sams can be had in the mid-rounds.
Well Brice McCain may be a poor mans version of Alphonso Smith (who is also only 5'9"), who had remarkable ball skills but not the top-end speed of McCain. BTW Smith ended up going high in the second round (37th overall)
to th Broncos.

NUN, can't say I agree with that assesment. While I might have gone for Mathews with #15, I think Cushing was a better choice now in retrospect.

Not me. I am still not sold. Trade me down and get me Brown from UConn and CB Alphonso Smith from Wake. Trouble is finding a willing trading partner.

OK, PK, you are on record with me at least. But I think you are fair minded, and by the end of the first two or three games you will see why you should change your mind.
