re: Schaub, - I've seen enough to understand why he was chosen and hope this is the year he is able to shut up the Woodsons of the world. If for some reason he doesn't work out due to chronic injuries (or whatever), we've got two able back-ups. This business of building a football team... I'd say it is very tough to be right 100% of the time.... the nitpickers of the world like to point out the mistakes and avoid giving credit to the successes.... Cowher went through some tough and lean years with the Steelers but the Rooneys stuck with him and it eventually paid off... |

Even though the TV segment was about Kubiak being fired my statement that we are close should be about both Kubiak and Rick Smith.
Kubiak was not my first choice, and he was surprised me with people skills. He is a better X & O guy than I thought, and he appears to care for the players and they in turn appear to respond well to him. Not every HC in the NFL has those traits, and McNair team needs a guy like that. I for one hope Kubiak is the Texans answer to Jeff Fisher. A long term highly respected person. Respected by NFL people and non fans alike.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why Woodson would say what he did. No running game? Slaton wasn't exactly toast last year. Schaub has been fragile, but we did put up 3rd in the league offensive numbers last year! One thing I've noticed on NFL network is that all the emphasis on games played from last year seem to be centered on the NFC east. I,too think Kubiak will be around a long time like Fisher has. I gues we'll just have to show 'em on the field this year.

I don't know why this bothers people so much. The Texans will not get any real respect until they start winning consistently. Most the time these guys go off of small bits and pieces of news and video clips they see and have no real understanding of the team and what goes on down here. Sad, I know, but that's how it is and how it will be until the team takes a season or two by the nads and makes people stand up and notice them.

I guess you could say, at least from my perspective, that I have watched houston pro football so long, and been dissapointed, that I am anxious to see the Texans finally turn the corner.

Yeah, while I disagree, I've heard local talk shows discuss if Kubiak was on the hot seat if we didn't make the playoffs this year. And I heard many say RB was our top draft need. But it does seem Mr. Woodson is a little tough on the Texans, and I disagree with his assessment. We do need to win and be in playoffs to get more support in the media, and many are picking us to be in playoffs now.
