I generally agree with what you're saying. However, this year's draft is so freakin' good in the middle rounds and so weak in the 1st. That being said, if you have a reasonably talented team then it's fairly unrealistic to bring in that many rookies- there just aren't enough spots for them, in theory. That being said, with the depth of this draft and weakness at the top, I would probably rather choose 2 LBs (for instance) in the 3rd round and have an open competition in camp rather than trade up or stay at #15 in order to pick my top LB. I just really can't see any real talent dropoff from a player available at #12 to a player at #112.

Take RB, for instance: I think I'd rather have Moreno than Jennings or Shonn Greene but I'm not really sure why or if it's prudent.
