Default Official Texans vs. Seahawks Game Thread, 12/12/2021

The 4-8 Seattle Seahawks come to NRG this Sunday to take on the 2-10 Texans. The Seahawks are coming off a 30-23 home win over the 49ers, the Texans are coming off a 31-0 home loss to the Colts.

The Texans are 1-3 all time versus the Seahawks. The last two meetings (2013, 2017) were won by the Seahawks - 3 pt wins both times.

Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has been plagued with injury this year but still has pretty good stats - 67.2% completion, 2042 yards, 241.7 yds/game, 14 TDs, 4 INTs, 102.5 rating. Geno Smith is his backup if needed. Leading rusher for the Seahawks is RB Alex Collins - 395 yards, 3.9 avg. Top two receivers are Tyler Lockett (881 yds, 15.5 avg) and DK Metcalf (710 yds, 13.7 avg.).

The Texan defense will have to show up for 60 minutes if the Texans want to be competitive in this game. Likewise, the Texan offense needs to show a pulse - they are last in the league in many categories. Tough one to call here but I'm going to side with the Texans simply because it is tough to put stinker after stinker together in the NFL. If they fail, it might be the last time I pick them to cover this year.

Seahawks 24, Texans 20
