Per McClain's live chat.

I'm thinking you meant Alex Gibbs ?
As has been mentioned in other threads, Carroll has got a brand new deal along with some real job security in Seattle while Kubiak is on a very short-leash and an uncertain future here in Houston with only a year remaining on his contract. Wonder if Gibbs takes his son with him ?

Yes, it is Alex Gibbs. I would not bet the son goes with him, Alex is not going to coach forever.

I think we are OK with OL coaches with Benton and Matthews.

I also think Kubes will get an extension shortly. That will also help with retaining coaches and recruiting free agents.

He better before other members of his staff start jumping ship and if he wants to land this Dennison guy up in Denver as his OC.

I wonder if this means the team will be transitioning to more of a traditional blocking scheme now

This could be welcome news if we can retain lil' Gibbs and get a more powerful O-Line.

I don't see why it would. Dennison took over the running game for Gibbs in Denver, I'm guessing he'll stick to what he knows.

Regardless of Kubiak's status, it's a promotion for Dennison and if he has aspirations to become an NFL HC one day he'll likely have to be an OC first. I haven't looked at any historical data, but I would think it's safe to assume more OC's/DC's get HC gigs than do postition coaches.

As for Gibbs, I don't see this as being a big deal...
