Default Official Texans @ Titans Game Thread, 9/20/2009

Ok, I think we need to start getting ready for this next game. Maybe get a win to make up for last week. Let's say it was just a overall bad first week, players, coaches, but it can get better and be a good season still. I think too early to write off the season, but things do need to get better quickly.

Texans should be over the Dunta distraction, some guys healed up and back should help us.

Titans, well, they also lost, even though looked pretty good against Pittsburgh in their first game, so probably also very motivated to beat us.

Go Texans.

Ya, sounds like most everyone will be ready to go: Reeves and Walter back... a few others have knicks but are expected to play. AD might be the only one to miss...

IMO, their best shot is for the D to rise up and get some turnovers off of Collins. Conversely, Schaub needs to have a much better game than last Sunday...

The most we can hope for now is 2-2 for September, but that definitely dosen't include a win in Nashville Sunday.

Well i just want them to show me something that I can look forward to.... Even if they lose. I got my Battle Red tickets for the Jaguars game on week 3 and its no fun trying to get psyched for a game when your team sucks a$$.

I'll go ahead and say it. We are NO match for Tennessee.

I am hoping for a repeat from a few years ago when they went in and beat the Panthers. (Except for AJ hurting his knee of course.)

I want to see them play like they have bees in their pants. Strong, fast and physical.

We did win once last year. I thought that the Titans were crazy to single AJ with Finnegan, and AJ made them royally pay. I doubt Fisher makes that mistake again; however, I don't think he will blitz as often as Ryan did last week.

Fisher is a guy who will blitz if he has to, but he's on record as saying that they will always try to get the QB with their front four first. With Haynesworth gone they might blitz a little more this season, but they haven't been a blitz first team the way a Rex Ryan coached team is. That being said Fisher is a smart guy and if he sees something in the film that he thinks his personnel can exploit he won't be afraid to use it.

Talked to a buddy of mine in Nashville, and based on the forecast, it could be a nasty game on Sunday. Flood watches going on up there now, 60% chance of thunderstorms thru the weekend.

Bad footing for all, which I think helps us more than hurts us. Might slow Johnson down a step, and if we can contain him and Lenwhale, like we did in the first half on TJones and Washington, we might actually have a decent shot at this.

Protection of Schaub is going to be key. He didn't have much time to take a look at anything last week. Hopefully, Myers won't get thrown around like a freaking rag doll and we can get this offense moving.

Thru my battle red glasses, this may not be so bad.......

Good thing I didn't knoiw what I was talking about because I will gladly
admit I was dead-wrong and lost faith in the Texans having any chance to win this game.
Sunday afternoon I was in Idaho trying to catch a trout in a beautiful Rocky Mounstain stream, but took a break to grab a cool one at the local Sports-Bar and check the NFL scores. The game was already over and I literally couldn't believe the score I saw for the Texans-Titans game the first time it scrawled by on the bottom of the screen of the second game already in progress, so I patiently watched to see the score again to make sure I saw
what I thought I saw.
Wow, what a thrill to see that final score and realize what a huge game this was for the Texans. Congrats to every one in their organization !
