I have watched a disturbing trend in college football and I hope it goes bye bye. The offensive team hurry to the line of scrimmage and start to call signals then the whole team stops and looks to the sideline for a new play. Man this really sucks.
Made the Oklahoma game almost unwatchable, it seemed to me to me to give the defense the advantage, by asking the big uglies to stay in their stance longer then normal. Any one else bothered by this "hurry up" offense?

With OU, it's definitely "stench". I think the word he was looking for, though, was "stance".

The "Hurry Up" offense didn't seem to bother Florida too much, so what was the use?

I felt like the OU players lost momentum, had they just snapped the ball they blowing out the Florida defenders, one of those time where coaches just over think it.

As for this offense it is simply the latest high school gimmick run amok in college football. |

I can tell you the purpose of it is to keep defenses from changing personnel on the fly, plus it puts more pressure on the defense to be ready for an early snap. But, as you mentioned, it has the potential to confuse your own players.
I can tell you the tv crews don't like it because they have a tough time deciding whether to fit in a replay of the previous play or stay with the live action. There were several times Thursday night where Fox missed the snap of the live play because they were showing the replay of the previous one. Eventually, either d-coordinators will find a way to thwart this or the rules committee will force a rule change. |

Why don't they just put a radio in the QB's helmet, like the Pros? Having the whole team look over at the sideline just looks crazy.

It was meant to force the defense to show something of what they were going to do before the offense had to commit to a certain play. But Florida wouldn't show anything, and then when Oklahome did run the play Florida, after a month to prepare, were right there to stop it. Sensless. I would have expected more from a Stoops coached team.
