I think most here know about these but the Texans have been making some moves:

No Watson, no Watt, no Martin, no Duke Johnson. Your 2021 Texans are shaping up to be an expansion franchise. Caserio could win brownie points with the fans if he gets a lucrative haul for Watson.... |

Lots of moves... for mostly back-end roster players and special teamers looking for an opportunity. Sadly necessary since depth is a major issue, and a switch in defensive schemes to Lovie Smith's Tampa 2 means all new personnel is needed (ugh ugh ugh). In sum, these transactions to me mostly represent the GM and coaches attempting to re-build the locker room culture.
So yes, many of these guys are going to be "Easterby types", which doesn't sound great but the reality is that departures of team leaders like Watt, McKinney, etc. leaves a power void. It's important that the Texans do have the right guys in place to bring along the young players. Several of these players have strong connections to not only Easterby/Caserio, but also David Culley, Pep Hamilton, James Campen and others. |

This might be the best signing yet. Was meh with the Titans but really good before that with the Chargers. Probably a good fit for the zone stuff that Lovie will likely employ. |

Erickson's deal is for $1.2M, of which part of his base along with his bonus make up to $500k guaranteed.

Thought the Texans might go for a replacement level punter after the release of Anger, but this is a decent signing. Quote:
I kinda like this deal. The Bengals were about to release Finley and instead they move up about 30 picks and send him to the Texans. Not entirely sure why the Bengals wanted to release Finley... of course he's not Joe Montana, but this is a good developmental backup QB. A 4th rounder in 2019, some scramble abilities and poise in the pocket. Not prototypical arm strength, which is kinda overrated to me when you have someone with this profile. None of these three dozen or so transactions are going to set the Texans on a deep playoff run in 2021, but dang it seems like Caserio is more than capable of building out the back half of a roster. |

Interesting point...it would result in a big cap hit if they trade him but Tunsil for less than $1 million next year is VERY attractive...especially to a contender like KC.
