Default Official Texans @ Lions Game Thread, 11/26/2020

The Texans return to Detroit for the first time in eight years to face the Lions. It's part of maybe the least anticipated pair of Thanksgiving Day NFL games in recent memory as the Dallas Cowboys host the Washington Football Team in the late afternoon offering. The nightcap between the Ravens and Steelers has been postponed due to COVID concerns.

Happy turkey day. Gobble gobble.

The 3-7 Texans head to Detroit this Thanksgiving to play the 4-6 Lions in the early Thursday game. The Lions are coming off a 20-0 road loss at the hands of the Carolina Panthers. The Texans are coming off a 27-20 home win over the New England Patriots. Lions QB Matthew Stafford is having an OK year: 2,581 yards passing, 17 TDs, 7 INTs, 93.7 rating. RB Adrian Peterson has had better years - 389 rushing yards, 3.7 avg). RB D'andre Swift is the #2, 331 rushing yards, 4.7 avg. WR Marvin Jones, Jr. and TE TJ Hockenson both have 5 TDs each. WRs Danny Amendola and Kenny Golladay are also favorites of Stafford. The Lion's defense is 27th in passing yards allowed and 30th in rushing yards allowed.

This is an opportunity for the Texans to get a little momentum going. They can do it if they want..... I've got it:

Texans 27, Lions 20

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TV = CBS (channel 11 local), 11:30 am CST, Thursday, 11/26/2020

Announcers = Jim Nantz, Tony Romo

The line = Texans by 3

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Thanksgiving:

FOX (late) = Washington @ Dallas, Joe Buck, Troy Aikman

Note: Ravens @ Steelers scheduled for Thursday night was moved to Sunday due to the Black Plague. This is the first time since 2005 that the NFL will have only two games played on Thanksgiving.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday viewing in the Houston area:

CBS (early) = Tennessee @ Indianapolis, Ian Eagle, Charles Davis

CBS (late) = Kansas City @ Tampa Bay, Jim Nantz, Tony Romo

FOX (late) = New Orleans @ Denver, Adam Amin, Mark Schlereth

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prime time:

Sunday (early 12:15 pm start) = Baltimore @ Pittsburgh (NBC; Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth)

SNF = Chicago @ Green Bay (NBC; Mike Tirico, Tony Dungy)

MNF = Seattle @ Philadelphia (ESPN)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Might not be able to post much during the Texan game, in fact, eating may make viewing impossible. As always, feel free to post your gameday comments.....

You pickin the Texans here Arky ? I don' know what to think ?
Watson was terrific Sunday but the road team is at a bigger disadvantage in these 4-day rest Thursday night game and Stafford by most accounts still has one of the best arms in the league.

According to SeeBS, Detroit is a three-point favorite which makes sense since they were shut out last week and Houston won. The over is at 52.
