Default QB Poll #1

Presuming none of the QBs in this draft are the next Dak Prescott, how do you fill the QB void for 2017?

1) Sign Colin Kaepernick for 1 yr/ $9 million
2) Sign Jay Cutler for 2 yrs/ $25 million
3) Trade our #1 pick to New England for Jimmy Garoppolo and a 3rd in 2018
4) Trade our #3 pick to Cincinnati for A.J. McCarron
5) Trade our #7 pick to Oakland for Matt McGloin
6) Other (specify)
7) Hope Savage and Weedon can stay healthy for a full year while developing a QB we drafted.

I don't touch the 1st six options on your list.

Yeah, I'd prefer 7 of those choices, take best player avail when we draft, hopefully a good QB in top 3 rounds. Don't mind a little reach in draft. Gotta try it.

There is definitely not a QB available I'd give up draft picks for. I'd rather just draft one and sign one.

That's fine and may be the correct answer. Just be prepared to own it if we get to the wild card game again and have to rely on our own version of Connor Cook to advance. And be prepared to hear more whining about how we're wasting J.J. Watt's career and not seriously addressing the QB position.

What do Kaep, Smokin' Jay, and a bunch of career backups have to do with wasting Watt's career? Who have you heard whining that we wasted his career by not signing more retreads or not trading for more backups? That's been our literal plan at QB the entire time we've been wasting his career.

The first two options give us a playoff-experienced veteran who can be a short-term solution while whomever we draft gets up to speed. The others are just more-affordable options if Kaepernick and Cutler don't suit you.

It's been all over this board. Unless you believe Tom Brady will declare free agency or Peyton Manning comes out of retirement, these are the options we have to work with.

Tell me, oh wise one, where are we getting this Super-Bowl ready QB to start with the Texans this year? You're stuck with table scraps. Gotta make the best you can out of them.

Conveniently omitting

and therefore perverting the point entirely.
