Default Official Texans vs. Bucs Game Thread, 09/27/2015

The 1-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers come to NRG stadium this Sunday for an early game. The Bucs are coming off a road win over the New Orleans Saints, 26-19. No doubt, rookie QB Jameis Winston earned brownie pts with the Buc faithful by upending the mighty Saints in his first try. Winston was 14/21, 207 yards, 9.9 avg, 1 TD, 0 INT, 114.6 rating. The Bucs lost their home opener to the Titans 42-14.

The 0-2 Texans will more than likely go (again) with Ryan Mallett at QB as they sort through their banged up and revolving OL personnel to find a starting 5. The Texans have lost both of their games by 7 pts most recently falling to the Carolina Panthers 24-17 on the road last week.

TV = FOX (channel 26 local), noon CST, Sunday

Announcers = Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston

The line = Texans by 6.5 to 7

Game started with CBS and has been switched to FOX. The Cowboys are on FOX at the same time and will get all of Texas minus the Houston area....

-------------------------------------------------

Other Sunday viewing in the Houston area:

CBS (late) - Chicago @ Seattle -- Jim Nantz, Phil Simms

-------------------------------------------------

Prime Time:

TNF = Washington @ New York Giants, CBS/NFLN

SNF = Denver @ Detroit, NBC

MNF = Kansas City @ Green Bay, ESPN

#Texans injury report says DeAndre Hopkins missed today's practice with a concussion. That is a big thing to watch.

RB Jonathan Grimes has knee injury. Didn't practice. Texans have enough problems not being able to run without losing Grimes.

If we start 0-3, this team is really in trouble. Will O'Brien decide to play for the #1 overall pick the way Kubiak did?

Yeah, I'd say so if the Colts were 2-1, but at best they'd be 1-2. The Texans still have all six games in the division ahead of them, and all four teams appear to have their troubles, yet at least one of them is making the playoffs. Losing games to NFC opponents isn't the end of life as we once knew it to be.

The Jets, with Fitzpatrick of all people, just went to Indy in primetime and won. The Jets.

O'Brien says DeAndre Hopkins came in the day after the game with concussion symptoms. Sounds optimistic. #Texans

The one common dagger to the heart the last few years in losing to the Colts has been TY Hilton. It appears the blueprint so far this year for beating the Colts is to relentlessly pressure Luck. If we can do that and not let TY kill us with a bomb (er...multiple bombs), we can beat the Colts. Of course, I already have visions of TY running loose behind the DB's with them feverishly cashing after him...

Haven't heard too much from our linebackers so far this year.... Is it too much to ask for someone in that group to make a play today?

Gametime in 5 minutes....
