Default Mike Sherman Loses Aggie Debut

Texas A&M lost their season opener to Arkansas St., 18-14, after leading at halftime, 14-3. Texas struggled with Arkansas St. to open the season last year so they are obviously a well-coached team but that's still a shocker.

All I know is the scoreboard. Any of you Ags know more of what went wrong? Did Sherman hire Chris Palmer to coach the offense?

The offense moved the ball in the first half but couldn't do anything in the second. The defense didn't set the world on fire but played well enough to win. With the transition to new systems on both sides of the ball and an inordinate number of true freshmen and walk-ons seeing significant playing time, four turnovers and two missed (makeable) field goals were too much to overcome.

Arkie state is a good team. They gave UT fits in the opener last year. I am sure Aggie Nation is in meltdown mode, but give Sherm some time. Fact is A&M does not have great talent.
