Default Official Texans @ Colts Game Thread, 12/15/2013

The 2-11 Texans travel up to Indianapolis this Sunday to take on the 8-5 Colts. In the Texans last game, they had a road loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20 on Thursday Night Football. The Colts are coming off a 42-28 road loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The Colts won the previous meeting against the Texans 27-24 in Houston.

TV = CBS (channel 11 local), noon CST, Sunday

Announcers = Kevin Harlan, Solomon Wilcots

The line = Colts by 5.5 to 6

Can the Texans keep up their tradition of never winning in Indiana?

It will be harder than you think because the Titans' loss in Denver clinched the division for Indy and they'd need to more-or-less run the table to overtake Cincinnati for third. Meanwhile, the Texans will all be trying to impress Wade Phillips and whoever the new head coach is going to be in an attempt to keep their jobs.

Case Keenum would like to get into the win column and the Colts have looked very beatable in recent weeks.

I'd say most of the motivation is on Houston's side but, still, they are in their own personal house of torture - the Lucas Oil Dome. Lose this and the Texans probably finish 2-14.

Ya, here's some pretty strong trends:

1. (As mentioned) the Texans have never won in Indy.

2. Andrew Luck is 8-0 ATS (against the spread) coming off a loss.

3. Andrew Luck has never lost two games in a row.

4. Andrew Luck is 10-4 ATS at home.

5. Colts are 19-4 against the Texans straight up.

Sorta surprised most of Texas getting the Texans game (and not NE vs Miami) ? Wonder if that's mainly because Keenum is starting ?
And I'm hoping we win another game or two and don't get the top pick because I'm increasingly seeing reports that indicate the Louisville QB is even less likely
to be another AL or RG3.

Atleast me, I'd much rather watch Texans than NE or Miami anytime no matter who is playing for Texans.

Anyways, hope for a hard fought, more or less mistake free game. Close and entertaining.

Wonder how offense play calls will go this week.

Win or lose I'm ok. One doesn't need to draft a QB 1-1 . Probably won't this year.

I'm more of a any given Sunday rather than trend guy, but as a trend appears loss likely.

High of 23º F predicted for Sunday's game in Indianapolis. (edit: doh! there in a dome, right?)

-------------------------------

Think I'll shake it up and wager on the Colts. Win or lose, I'll win.
