Default Jay Cutler On Trading Block?

It may just be internet rumbling but some say the Chicago Bears are so thrilled with Josh McCown that they might deal Jay Cutler in the offseason. You guys moaning about a lack of franchise QBs in this year's draft, would Cutler interest you and what would you part with to get him? I'm not sure Rick Smith spent any time with Cutler in Denver before leaving for Houston. They might have crossed paths but not sure.

BTW, the rumors are that Cutler could be shipped to the Titans where he played his college ball at Vandy. I'm not sure I buy the rumors at all but some of you have claimed you can't win championships in the NFL without a first-round QB. Well, there could be one on the market (I won't mention Michael Vick).

I've seen alot of the same, but he's a FA next year, so I haven't seen alot of trade talk, just $ talk.

I suppose they can tag and trade, but I don't recall seeing that too terribly often in the NFL. Maybe I just forgot....

Other than Manning, when was the last time a team actually let a franchise QB walk? I can't remember one. But, maybe I just forgot that too.

Interesting idea though. Given our salary cap issues, would be tough I'd imagine.

The Chiefs have had success adding Alex Smith, maybe another team could figure it out with Cutler, too. I'm not a fan of Cutler's personally.

One thing that's undeniable about Cutler is his incredible ability as a passer, and they say it's a passing league these days (no kidding !), so rest assured
he will get a ton of money when he resigns with the Bears or with another team if he & the Bears don't reach an agreement.
I've seen Cutler make passes falling backwards, under intense pressure, and on one leg that some other starting NFL QBs can't make flat-footed with absolutely no pressure. Nobody but nobody has a better pure arm in the league today than Cutler. Now of course he has some deficiencies in the so called intangibles department, including some well publisized hassles with teammates and coachs.
Anyway, none of this really makes much difference for the Texans, 'cause I'm quite confidant Cutler is far too expensive for our budget.

They just resigned him to a 7 year deal. He's off the block.
