Default Andre Johnson in the community

Normally a lurker; love the conversation here. Thought these things were worth pointing out. Andre did both of these things today.

He is getting so much pub about the shopping spree and the $19k bill he picked up, I couldn't find an article about Bastian Elementary. The second link I posted mentions it, but Andre's foundation partnered with HPD to raise funds for Christmas toys for 800 students at his "adopted" Bastian Elementary School. He has done this every year since 2008.

Dre is so good on and off the field. If there was 1 thing that Casserly did right, it was him.

As a fan I'm glad the Texans are finally a good team but as happy as I am for me I'm happier for Andre. When I would occasionally lose my shit around here three, four, five years ago it was largely because we were witnessing the waste of the career of an awesome football player and an excellent human being.

I've been fairly calm about Monday's game but for some reason this story makes me really, really want to win it.

Who else is going to come to Canton with me the day they give Andre his jacket?

With Andre having a very big day.

Another thread mentioned the Earl Campbell story. Andre's personality has always reminded me of ol' #34. Both are soft-spoken. Both quietly do (did) their jobs. Neither player is (was) a showboat on the field. They almost always toss(ed) the ball back to the ref. And they both have been superstars in the NFL. That's why these 2 guys are probably my 2 favorite football players of all time.
