Default Harris to be a Reserve Safety?

Kubiak mentioned during this during his presser:

@HoustonTexans: Kubiak: Troy Nolan starts in place of Manning. Torri Williams might come up from practice squad. Brandon Harris might play safety.

Interesting......

He also stated that Harris hasn't seen the field because there was a "crowd" at CB....WOW.

so, if Torri Williams comes up, someone else has to go back to practice squad?

I like the idea of getting to see what Brandon Harris can do.

Don't mind it. I wonder why it is not Jackson being tried at Safety though. I thought he might benefit from the switch before the injury to manning. He is a little slow and has poor ball skills at CB. He also struggles in man coverage. Letting him play with his eyes on the QB at safety might really help him, and he is a very good tackler.

Kubiak mentioned/was asked that as well, and his response was that they didn't want to change two positions to compensate for 1. They are happy with the play @ CB.

Someone needs to get their ego out of the way and realize Jackson is our 4th best CB (or 5th, I haven't seen enough of Brandon Harris to tell at this point).

GMs hate admitting mistakes though, so they try to force it to work long after it is clear it won't. It is like Amobi Okoye part 2. These guys screw up a pick and then compound it by refusing to admit it.

Have notice what Okoye has done in Chicago? It was not the player, it was drafting a player good at one thing and not letting him do it and asking him to do things he was not good at.

They asked him to read and react, and he is a shot the gap guy.
