@JasonColeYahoo 6 teams express interest in Weddle. Jax, hou, Dallas, minn, Indy and SD. Could make $7m per.

Weddle would be a good complement to Quinn at safety. But what about that experienced CB we need? Has Aso made up his mind yet?

Weddle is supposed to be the top FA Safety, or top 3, so that would be nice to see in Houston.

Here is a good review of FA CB and Safety available for now.

I was just looking at interception stats at

Surprizingly found near the top Jason Allen with total of 6 last year.

Try $8MM.....

Agree, he's good, but that is crazy for a S with short hair

@sdutChargers: Weddle gets $40 mil for 5 years. $19 guaranteed.

Apparently, we made a pretty decent efforts at this guy.... If you can't beat'em, make'em spend more than they wanted to
No one will ever know if it is fact or fiction, but I saw this via PFT:

https://www.signonsandiego.com/news/...-back-burnett/

The Chargers have essentially spent $49 million on their defense in the past 24 hours -- $40 million to safety Eric Weddle (five years, $19 million guaranteed) and $9 million (three years, $3 million guaranteed) to linebacker Takeo Spikes.

There probably is not enough left for Kevin Burnett, according to those familiar with the Chargers attempt to balance their needs with their wants.

Those sources said Monday night that the inside linebacker who had a career year in 2010 was going to have to come down on his asking price to be in play for the Chargers. Separate sources said previously that price was more than $5 million a year. By Tuesday morning, after the Chargers had extended their budget slightly to make sure they got Weddle from the clutches of the Houston Texans, it had become virtually certain that Burnett will be playing elsewhere this season.
