Default Andre Johnson Will Not Be Suspended

Whew!

http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/spor...t-be-suspended

HOUSTON - FOX 26 Sports has learned Houston Texans receiver Andre Johnson will be fined for his actions Sunday involving Tennessee Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan, but Johnson will not be suspended.

It is not known what further punishment will be handed down to Finnegan.

Huge news for the Texans because that means their All-Pro receiver will be able to play when Houston takes on the Eagles Thursday night in Philadelphia.

Any further disciplinary action for Johnson and Finnegan will stem from their altercation in the fourth quarter of the Texans 20-0 victory at Reliant Stadium.

Both players were ejected from the game.

Finnegan initiated the fight when he hit Johnson in the facemask seconds after the ball was snapped. Johnson retaliated and both players ripped each other's helmets off.

Johnson would land several punches before the referees intervened.

Multiple sources told FOX 26 Sports prior to the fight Finnegan looked at the Texans sidelines and said, "watch this."

Yeah, 790 and 610 radio guys are saying the same thing but they probably got it from the Fox report.

I'd say fine 'em a bunch but don't suspend 'em.... I believe they lose a game check when suspended.... AJ's got a lot more to lose than Finnegan...

Ripping off Innegan's helmet....$10,000
Landing 2 punches into his head......$90,000
Not getting suspended for knocking the F out of Innegan...Priceless

AJ was beatin the socks off of Finnegan and the little punk just couldn't stand it, so he had to make a grandstand play. He clearly initiated the whole thing.

This is great news but I'll wait until the league releases an official statement.

Here is a good article on Finnegan antics as well as comments quoted from Mike Ditka that Andre should be applauded, not penalized. I like that.

And, looks like they both officially got $25k fine on this incident, fair enough.
Second article down. with a poll on what punishment options appropriate.
