Default Suh accepts Lombardi Award in Houston

Suh won the Bronko Nagurski Trophy on Monday. He also was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and is the consensus No. 1 prospect for the 2010 NFL draft on April 22.

The 6-4, 300-pound senior beat out Lombardi finalists Jerry Hughes (TCU), who played at Fort Bend Austin, Gerald McCoy (Oklahoma) and Terrence Cody (Alabama) for the award, which is given to college football's top lineman.

I saw this guy play against Mizzou earlier in the year for the first time and thought his performance was outstanding, then saw him Saturday vs UT and knew he was really special. Of course that's what everyone said about LSUs Dorsey in college whos turned out to be disappointing in the pros so far.
But it's hard to imagine this guy as being anything but overwhelming even in the NFL ? And I gotta think he's atleast the top non-QB taken in the upcoming Draft, if not #1 overall ?

His emergence will be great for us in a way.... He will definitely be a top 10 pick so that will probably leave one of the top safeties on the board by the time our pick comes up. We will probably end up picking between 14-16.

He'll never fall to us but I really wonder what he'll be like after his first knee surgery. Like Reggie Bush, he has amazing quickness but the first time that knee gets scoped, I think he'll just be ordinary.

The Rams will be tempted to try and draft a franchise QB if they get the first pick, but passing on Suh would be a huge mistake. Suh might be the most dominant prospect to ever enter the NFL Draft. He is at the top ofeveryone's Draft Value Board and was one of five finalists for the Heisman Trophy.

No doubt Suh is an outstanding talent and NFL prospect, but this kinda hype is starting to rise to the Reggie Bush level of the 2006 Draft.

Hehe, hyperbole for the draft prospects is always amusing. My favorite always comes when discussing NFL RBs...Reggie Bush, Adrian Peterson, and Darren McFadden have all been described as "the best RB to enter the draft in 10 years."

Good DL draft pick? Compares to Reggie White.
Good QB? Compares to Peyton Manning.
Good RB? Compares to a hybrid of Walter Payton and Barry Sanders.
