Interesting. Tough when people lose their jobs, but a fresh perspective seems needed here, especially in strength and conditioning.

That is very interesting to say the least. Riley has a great reputation and the players seem to like his methods. I wonder if they will be going after the strength/trainer from Denver.
This year we had fewer injuries that I can remember, but I think that has to do with the fact we have better players than some of the tomato cans we rolled out in the past. Kubes must feel comfortable in his own skin to continue to make changes, which I think is a good thing. Makes me wonder if we will see a short contract extension with him soon. Don't remember if he had a 4 or 5 year deal. I would assume it is a 5 year deal, otherwise he would be heading into a lame duck year and I doubt McNair would want that to be a distraction.

Don't knock tomato cans. Remember, when the tomato cans get injured, you can just replace them with other tomato cans.

Riley doesnt suprise me, his methods seemed out of date from the little I have heard. From what I have heard he was slighty anti calastetics, which seems odd to me as a younger person.
Bastion does suprise me. I though he was widely accepted as a good trainer. I wonder if this has something to do with the Pittman suspension. The team trainer is supposed to be an official rep for suppliment advice and such, perhaps he gave some bad advice? It is also possible that Bastion was not communicating injuries correctly or perhaps he was helping players hide injuries from Kubes. There has been a history of Kubiak giving reports to the media on players that was way off, and I dont believe for a second that Kubes would straight up lie about something like that in order to throw other teams off. |

Don't no where to find it, but Kubes pretty much got caught doing exactly this (not that I'm terribly opposed to it). It was a game where Ahman Green was listed as either questionable or probable/gametime decision but ended up not suiting up. When asked about it after the game because everyone thought Ahman would play, Kubes admitted that Green had told him at practice on either Thursday or Friday that he wouldn't be able to go. When I heard this, I remember thinking that if Kubes is going to hide injuries to keep the opposing team guessing, he needs to not confess to it postgame.

Per PFT.COM there is an article that indicates the Strength/Conditioning coaches from Denver are rumored to be staying in Denver.
Little Richie hatchetman from the local fishwrap wrote an article (I only read a little until I could not stand his slanted spin) saying that it was a personal reason Riley was fired (Smith V. Riley). He probably wants us to inquire if "fat dog" I mean "mad dog" from the flagship state U is available. My trainer has muscles that have muscle. Mad dog has a kegger under his xxxxxl shirt. I think Richie writes while getting a rectal exam w/o lubricant. He is a very bitter man. I think he needs a hug, or better yet, Jesus. Kubes IMO deserves our trust. He seems to be able to upgrade the staff when people leave. I.E. Gibbs, Rhodes. I am going to trust that he is again going to get a good strength guy.

Richard seems upset to be losing all of his former Redskins contacts from within the organization. There are fewer people on Bob McNair's payroll willing to talk to the Chronicle every day, and that makes Richard a very surly person.
It is a peculiar dynamic for us to witness. Richard has basically labeled Kubiak to be a clueless dolt and Rick Smith to be a creep. If Richard was smart, he'd quit taking these calls from Charley Casserly. |

The whole article had style that was highly reminiscent of an old poster from the HPF days. I won't say his name, but I'm sure some of you remember a certain someone's personal vendetta against Smith.

Also reminded me of Justice's article at the beginning of the season attacking Gibbs because he yells a lot. Come to find out, he has had a grudge against Gibbs for over a decade because Gibbs gave him the cold shoulder once. He clearly wanted to write an article disparaging Gibbs and the "he screams and yells too much" was the only angle he could come up with. This has that feel as well.

I did not think of that slant. He is probably pissed because he has to work instead of having stories handed to him. So much for unbiased journalism. I wish 1560 would dump him, he adds absolutely nothing to that station. Josh and Papa - great points as well.

McClain gets on my nerves...but he's a little like some crazy relative you met at a family reunion when you were 13. As long as you'll sit there and listen to his stories from the good'ole days he will slip you a beer and tell you a dirty joke. Justice is really the only one on the chronicle staff that I despise. He never adds any kind of analysis. A lot of his articles seem to based on past personal grudges, and or just cheap attempts to piss people off to drive comments. I blame ESPN and shows like around the horn.
