Time to give the Browns the thrashing they so richly deserve...

Texans receive the opening kickoff and AD returns it to about the 31 but holding penalty knocks it back to the 21.

-------------

Texans move the ball down the field with short passes and runs burning up about 8 minutes of clock. Rosenfels hits Walter for the 17 yd TD to cap it off.

Texans 7, Browns 0

That was a nice opening drive. Good mix of the run and pass. Now let's see what the defense can do.

Fumble!

Defense gets the rare turnover. Texans takeover at the Brown 40.

Wow. A fumble recovery. When's the last time that's happened?

What is this when the opponent drops the ball and our defense jumps on it? What happens now? I don't remember that happening for our defense.

Texans to go for it on 4th and 1 at the edge of the redzone....

----------------

Greens pops through for the 1st down. Ball at the 12 yard line.

End of the 1st quarter.

Glad they picked up the 1st on 4th down, but Kubiak continually going for it on 4th down bothers me. Some think it shows confidence in your guys. I think it's the other way around. If you're constantly taking risks that other teams don't take, it says you don't think you can just line up and beat the other team playing by-the-numbers football.

What kind of play calling was that? After the opening drive, I'd have a little confidence in Rosencopter.

A draw on 3rd and 13 from the 15. Way to play for the FG, Gary.

Texans get stopped running the ball but get a FG out of it.

Texans 10, Browns 0

I don't mind the going for on 4th though I'd prefer that kind of call on the goal line i.e. Rosenfels INT on goal line against Ravens.

This is what confuses me. Kubiak goes for it on 4th down but then is conservative and settles for the field goal. I certainly don't have a problem playing conservative after the penalty, particularly with Sage. However, if you aren't willing to let your QB try and make a play and are fine with settling for a field goal, what was the point of going for it on 4th?

Texans kickoff and Browns set up at their 24 yard line.

Browns move the ball down the field and the Texan defense comes up with a redzone stop. Browns get the FG.

Texans 10, Browns 3

Browns kickoff. Touchback, so Texans ball at the 20.

1st play, 21 yards to AJ.

A penalty and a sack kill a promising drive. Texans go for the FG but the FG is blocked. Score remains:

Texans 10, Browns 3

Browns will takeover at their 39.

1st play, Quinn makes Reeves look bad on 43 yard completion. Imagine that.

Big 3rd and 6 for the Browns at the 15 is incomplete.

Browns go for the FG. FG is good.

Texans 10, Browns 6

2:20 left in the half.
