I thought Sage's current contract expired after the end of this year. I know he wants to start and I don't think he is in the plans of the Texans, so he would move on to another team that will offer him a starting job. If in fact it does end after this year would it not be prudent to draft a good young quarterback with more potential than a 7th round training camp fill-in? It would depend greatly on who comes out, of course. Even if it ends after next year it would still be prudent to draft a good young QB.

i believe it's next year but i disagree about spending the draft pick on a qb unless we trade sage first.

I would have hoped we had another viable backup to Schaub before we let Sage go, but it is not shaping up that way.

Well now, Sage has another month to showcase his wares while Matt (rooted to the spot) Schaub recuperates. I now think we need to hang on to Sage because Schaub is never going to be mobile enough to move around in the pocket.

I would consider taking a QB in the 4th, but to tell the truth, I don't see that much talented depth at QB coming out this year.
