Official Texans @ Broncos Game Thread, 12/26/2010
Week 16 takes the 5-9 Texans to Denver to play the 3-11 Broncos. The Broncos three wins were over Seattle, Tennessee and Kansas City. They are currently in the midst of a 5-game losing streak but should have a different look with rookie Tim Tebow at QB. Tebow started last Sunday against Oakland and had the team in the game until late when it got away from them in the 4th quarter. The disappointing, banged-up, in-a-turmoil Texans will be looking to tack on a late season "W".
TV = 3:05 pm, Sunday, CBS Announcers = Don Criqui, Steve Beuerlein Opening line = Texans by 3 Current line = Texans by 2.5 to 3 Set your DVR's.

Well, I should have changed my strategy earlier, but the kool aid has stopped flowing, the glass is now half empty, took a while, so I'll predict Broncos win 30-28. Texans end at 5-11. The worse the better. (note: my heart wishes we were 10-6, in playoffs but, results say time for a change)

Gametime!
Broncos wins the toss and defers to the Texans. Slaton brings the kickoff back to the Texan 20. Foster for 1. Brings up 2nd and 9. Foster TFL -1. Makes it 3rd and 10. Pass complete to OD but flag on the play. Illegal formation Texans is declined. Texans have to punt on 4th and 5. Broncos fair catch at their 40.

Moreno for no gain. 2nd and 10 coming up.
Broncos get about 3 on a run. 3rd and 7 coming up. Dump to Gaffney gets 11 and the 1st down. Tebow scrambles for 1. 2nd and 9 coming up. Moreno gets about 4 but flag on the play. Illegal block in the back on the Broncos -10. Makes it 2nd and 17. Buckhalter gets about 2. 3rd and 15. Screen gets about 8. 4th and 7 coming up and the Broncos will punt. JJ fair catches at the Texan 8 yard line.

Dump to OD goes all the way to the Texan 40. 31 yards on the play.
Slant to JJ gets 11. Foster for 3. Makes it 2nd and 7. Dump to OD gets 8. 1st down. Foster pops it for 33 yards. 1st and goal at the Bronco 3. Foster sweeps right for the TD! Texans 7, Broncos 0

Broncos return the kickoff and fumble but the Broncos recover. Broncos ball at their 22.
2:41 left in the 1st. Tebow's pass to Lloyd is good for 19. 1st down. Moreno for no gain. Tebow nearly sacked, chunks it away inc. 3rd and 10 coming up. Tebow scrambles for 2. Broncos have to punt. Cush playing with an attitude today.... Small return by JJ - Texans ball at their 14.

End of 1st quarter. -------------------------------- Dump off to JJ goes for a big gainer. 47 yards. Ball at the Bronco 38. Deep pass to JJ over the middle goes for 33. 1st and goal at the 5. Foster for about 1. Foster for about 1 but flag on the play. Defensive holding - auto 1st down at the 2. Foster for no gain. 2nd and goal at the 3. Schaub hits OD in the endzone for the TD! Texans 14, Broncos 0 11:43 left in the half.

Texans starting out hot in the first half. I don't know how to handle that because it happens so rarely.
It's LOL that the Broncos would fall for the play-action like they didn't see that themselves for the last decade-or-so but then these are all McD coaches so I guess they weren't aware.

Moreno for 2. 2nd and 8 coming up. Moreno sweeps right for about 11. 1st down. Tebow chunks it out of bounds. 2nd and 10 coming up. Buckhalter goes left for about 4. 3rd and 6 coming up. Pass to Royal at midfield good for the 1st down. Lance Ball fumbles but recovers and still picks up 1. Swing pass to Buckhalter gets about 5. 3rd and 4 coming up. Tebow pressured, throws inc. Broncos have to punt. Punt goes into the endzone - Texans ball at their 20.

Reverse to JJ goes backwards for -3. 2nd and 13 coming up.
Foster up the middle for 13. Still 3rd and a short 1. Pitch is bobbled by Ward and loses 3 - Texans have to punt. Royal returns the punt to the Bronco 33 but flag on the play. Illegal block in the back on the Broncos - half the distance - places the ball at the Bronco 9.
